Sean was in eighth and ninth in his first two stints. After that Robin Frinjs took over the reins. When the race was forced to stop due to Jose Maria Lopez (Toyota) having a terrible accident, WRT #31 took a lot of advantage after the race resumed.

Their position crept up with a difference that is also trimmed. Even the two positions they secure very comfortably.

Hurricane | About an hour before the finish, a storm stalked the circuit. Race Director, Eduardo Freitas then again stopped the race. The reason is, according to the local law, if there is a storm, the residents must be protected. And the marshals who served in the open field had to be protected, so the race had to be stopped.

However, because it was raining and night was approaching, the race was finally declared over. Sean Gelael , Rene, and Robin Frinjs were named runners-up under United Autosports USA team #23.

“Of course I’m happy with this result. Finishing in second place is a good start, and for the WRT team it’s even better because we finished second and third. We certainly wanted to win and that can only be achieved with hard work. The season is still long, ” said Sean.

The next series of FIA WEC will be held in Belgium in the title 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on 7 May 2022.
