Haki is a power that resides within everyone in the world of One Piece . This mysterious power allows the user to harness their spiritual energy for various purposes. It provides a layer of protective spiritual energy against its user. For a group of “chosen” people, Haki can be used to defeat the will of others. All living things in the world can learn Haki. However, most of the people either don’t realize it or fail to awaken it. Usually, this power is divided into two types, namely Busoshoku Haki and Kenbunshoku Haki. Both types of Haki are common in One Piece
. However, there are also those who have another type of Haki, namely Haoshoku Haki. This type is very rare and only has one in a million people.
A number of members of the Straw Hat Pirates were trained to use Haki during the two year time jump. Several others managed to awaken their powers after the crew reunited on the Sabaody Archipelago. Which members of the Straw Hats use Haki? Here’s the review!
This sniper aka the Straw Hat Pirates sniper has just gained the power of Haki. He tapped it in the Dressrosa story arc . Unlike other members of the pirates, Usopp can only use one type of Haki, namely Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki).
Using this power, Usopp can shoot his targets much more efficiently than before. And, as a sniper , this was an essential piece of equipment for him. Usopp awakens this Haki while attempting to shoot Sugar, one of the Donquixiote Pirates’ executives.
As he was about to shoot Sugar without fail, Usopp’s Haki bloomed. This allows him to aim when he is far from Sugar and can’t even see him directly. Usopp’s long-range shooting skills also improved drastically. It was only because of him that Luffy and Law were finally able to get close to Donquixote Doflamingo, the main antagonist in that story arc.
He is one of the strongest fighters in the crew and is often considered a member of the Trio Monster. During a time jump, Sanji can tap this power. He specializes in using Kenbunshoku Haki.
Sanji is strong enough to injure Queen, one of Kaido’s three right hands with his kicks that seem to be coated in Haki. At the same time, his Kenbunshoku Haki is very subtle because he can feel what others cannot. One of them is a woman’s teardrops from hundreds of meters away.
Sanji spent two years leapfrogging under Emporio Ivankov, commander of the Grand Line Revolutionary Army. While training with him, Sanji seems to be able to tap the power of Kenbunshoku Haki. He also became a specialist in this Haki.
Since he had to defeat all of Ivankov’s followers, he needed the driving force that Busoshoku Haki had to offer. This Haki could help him to surpass them. When he arrived in the Sabaody Archipelago, Sanji was a great user of Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku Haki.
This Fish-Man recently rejoined the Straw Hats in the Wano story arc . As expected of a former Shichibukai, Jinbe has two types of Haki, namely Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku.
Although his use of both Haki was very limited until recently, in the Wano story arc , he battled the Who’s Who. In that fight he showed his ability to master Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku Haki. Unlike other users of Haki in the Straw Hat Pirates, it is unknown when or how Jinbe learned to use Haki.
While fighting Portgas D Ace, Jinbe is known to use Haki to defend himself. However, it wasn’t strong enough to protect him from Ace’s fire. Apparently, Jinbe learned to use that power when he became a Shichibukai. His use of this power is impressive, as seen in his fight against the Who’s Who, one of Kaido’s strongest men.
Roronoa Zoro is a fighter of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is the second strongest person in the crew after Luffy. He has the power to use three types of Haki, which is not surprising at all with his big dreams.
While Zoro’s Kenbunshoku Haki isn’t anything special, his use of Busoshoku Haki is definitely quite impressive. This was seen during his brief fight against Kaido which ended in Zoro’s defeat. In Wano, he also has the potential to have Haoshoku Haki.
Zoro was trained by Dracule Mihawk during a two year time jump. The training was pretty much focused on Busoshoku Haki, which is why Zoro’s use of this power was so subtle back then.
At the same time, he also managed to learn how to use Kenbunshoku Haki. Although, his use of this power wasn’t great. While fighting Kaido, somehow Zoro was able to use Haoshoku Haki. However, he had not yet realized that the power was within him.
As one of the strongest pirates in the world of One Piece , it’s no surprise that Luffy is a user of all types of Haki. He was able to use all three powers at an advanced level. This is as seen in his travels throughout the New World.
Luffy can see the future with Kenbunshoku Haki. Meanwhile, his Busoshoku Haki or Ryou’s is strong enough to damage other people’s insides. Luffy can also use Haoshoku Haki at an advanced level by coating himself. This significantly increases his attack power.
Luffy was trained in Haki by Silvers Rayleigh, the right-hand man of the Pirate King, during a two-year time jump. He managed to master basic Haki in just 1.5 years. This shows how genius Luffy is when it comes to combat.
On his way, Luffy slowly raised his Haki to new levels. He gains the power to see the future against Katakuri. In Mine Prison, Luffy learns how to destroy anything from the inside with Ryou.
While fighting Kaido, Luffy tapped the power of Haoshoku Haki. He also managed to match the Yonko in a fairly long fight. This shows why he is by far the strongest member of the Straw Hat Pirates.
