Ralf Rangnick will reportedly join the Premier League soon. The man from Germany is rumored to be the interim manager of the Red Devils.

He will replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

Rangnick is currently still serving as sporting director for Lokomotiv Moscow. But he is said to have agreed to let go of the position in favor of managing Manchester United for six months.

If it really comes to the Premier League, Rangnick will reunite with several players. The reason is, they had been trained by Rangnick at the previous club.

Here are six Premier League players Ralf Rangnick has coached.

Timo Werner
Timo Werner was one of Ralf Rangnick’s mainstay players during his time in charge of RB Leipzig. The Chelsea bomber worked with Rangnick for one season.

During that one season, Werner appeared quite productive under Rangnick’s tutelage. The German national team striker was able to score 19 goals and 10 assists from 39 appearances in the 2018/19 season.

In that season, Werner managed to bring his team into the DFB-Pokal final. Unfortunately, they failed to become champions because they lost to Bayern Munich.

Joel Matip
Schalke 04 is one of the clubs that Ralf Rangnick has handled. At this Bundesliga club, Rangnick met with Joel Matip.

Matip didn’t stay long enough to be Rangnick’s underling. The Cameroon national team player has only played 21 matches with the German.

Matip himself left Schalke 04 in 2016. With the Merseyside club, Matip has played in 138 games in all competitions.

Ibrahima Konate
Another Liverpool player Ralf Rangnick has coached is Ibrahima Konate. He felt Rangnick’s cold hand while playing at RB Leipzig.

Konate became Rangnick’s subordinate at Leipzig in the 2018/19 season. The French defender appeared regularly under Rangnick’s tutelage.

Konate played 43 games in all competitions that season. He managed to contribute three goals and one assist from his appearance.

Gylfi Sigurdsson
Prior to his career in the Premier League, Gylfi Sigurdsson played for Hoffenheim. He came to the club in the 2010/2011 season under Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick signed Sigurdsson from English club Reading. The Icelandic midfielder was redeemed for a fee of 5.2 million euros at that time.

Sigurdsson worked with Rangnick for half a season. He played 15 games scoring seven goals and one assist before Rangnick left the club in January 2011.

Emile Smith Rowe
Emile Smith Rowe is now a key Arsenal player. Even so, the 21-year-old was also trained by Ralf Rangnick.

In January 2019, Arsenal loaned Smith Rowe to RB Leipzig. The Gunnes sent the player to Germany to get a better chance to play.

Unfortunately, Smith Rowe did not get many opportunities to play under Rangnick. He only played 26 minutes out of three games.

Teemu Pukki
Teemu Pukki was once a subordinate of Ralf Rangnick at Schalke 04. He worked with Rangnick at the club in the 2011/12 season.

At that time, Pukki did not get many playing opportunities from Rangnick. He only played once under the German.

After playing 47 games over three seasons, Pukki finally left Schalke 04 in 2013. He then continued his career with Celtic.
