One day, Dorothea Williams, a legendary jazz musician, needed a pianist to join her band . Without wasting a chance, Joe then auditioned and he was accepted right away.

On the way home, Joe fell into a manhole. Upon awakening, Joe finds himself trapped in another world—the realm before birth. In that place, all the souls that had not descended to the world gathered. Joe who did not accept his existence then jumped to the earth. However, every time he tried to descend, Joe always returned to that realm.

Then, an instructor named Jerry arrives who tells Joe that in order to get to earth, every soul must find the fire of its life, namely passion, talent, and reason for being in this world. In this realm, Joe has the opportunity to reevaluate his life before he was born into the world.

This heartwarming comedy won the 2021 Oscars for Best Animated Film and Best Original Music. This Soul is really a champion !
