The title itself refers to the Gilded Age , New York’s golden era in the late 19th century. Despite having a different setting, this series is no less exciting than Downton Abbey , you know.

The Gilded Age tells the struggle of two women, Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) and Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson), to be accepted into their community. Envy and family resistance colored the twists and turns of their struggle.

Even though she has just made her acting debut, Louisa Jacobson has managed to steal the show. The daughter of veteran actress Meryl Streep is able to support the lovable character of Marian .
