BigHit Music recently reported that Jimin BTS was hospitalized due to symptoms of appendicitis. He was also known to have tested positive for COVID-19 during the examination.
Jimin underwent surgery to remove his appendix on January 31, 2022. Since then, he has been undergoing treatment to recover.

On this day, February 5, 2022, BigHit Music revealed Jimin’s current condition. In a statement, management confirmed that currently the BTS vocalist has recovered from appendicitis surgery and COVID-19.

“We would like to announce that Jimin BTS’s quarantine has ended after he underwent an appendectomy. Jimin tested positive for COVID-19 and was diagnosed with appendicitis on January 30. He then underwent surgery on January 31,” explained BigHit Music.

“Since then, Jimin has been undergoing inpatient treatment. Before being allowed to leave the hospital, Jimin underwent a PCR test and was declared negative from COVID-19,” he continued.

BigHit Music also explained that Jimin did not feel any severe symptoms while undergoing treatment. He only felt a pain in the throat.

Management also confirmed Jimin’s operation went very well. In fact, he is said to have recovered quite quickly.

He only had a mild sore throat, but is currently recovering. We also received reports regarding his surgery and Jimin is said to be recovering quickly without any issues,” explained BigHit Music.

“Jimin is currently still recovering after being discharged from the hospital. We would like to thank the fans who have been worried about our artist’s health and also for the medical team who are fighting hard against COVID-19. We will continue to prioritize the health of our artist and follow the health protocols in accordance with with the rules of the medical team,” he concluded.
