The next big Marvel highlight has just started in the cinemas with “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” . The film marks not only the next step in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but also the long-awaited return of “Spider-Man” director Sam Raimi to the superhero genre.

Strongest Avenger: “Doctor Strange 2” provides a clear answer to the big MCU question

For years, Marvel fans have been arguing about who really is the strongest member of the Avengers. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” now makes another argument for a side…

– Warning: Spoilers for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” follow! –

Even though Thor (Chris Hemsworth) likes to call himself the strongest Avenger, other candidates have long been in the running for the prestigious title. MCU boss Kevin Feige got involved in the discussion himself and once named Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) as the strongest Avengers. When it comes to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , though, things seem settled.

Eventually, in the film, Scarlet Witch goes on a killing spree in an alternate universe, killing the Illuminati — and one of them is Captain Marvel. It’s not Carol Danvers’ version, it’s Maria Rambeau’s (Lashana Lynch) version, but she’s supposed to have the same superpowers. The only question here is whether she was also trained by the Kree, which might even make Carol a tad stronger. But the result of their fight is absolutely clear: Captain Marvel doesn’t stand a chance, although the Scarlet Witch is also fighting Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell) and is only externally controlling another version in this universe anyway – which means that in this issue more and more for Scarlet Witch speaks.

Would Scarlet Witch lose to a version of Doctor Strange?
After all, Scarlet Witch managed to defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin) almost single-handedly in “Avengers: Endgame” . Ultimately, he had to have his own troops fired upon in order to devastate the battlefield and thereby fend off the Marvel heroine. Captain Marvel was able to stand up to Thanos for his part, but didn’t put him down as badly as Scarlet Witch. Incidentally, Elizabeth Olsen also sees it that way: In an interview with Netzwelt , she now revealed that she believes Wanda could defeat anyone.

Although there may be a Marvel hero against whom she would lose out: Strange Supreme . This is the Marvel ‘s What If…? Incidentally, the villain had previously easily defeated both Captain Marvel (the Carol Danvers version) and Zombie Scarlet Witch. Since Strange Supreme is not part of the Avengers, Scarlet Witch remains the favorite for the title “strongest Avengers member”, but in terms of superheroes, the question could now be: Scarlet Witch or Strange Supreme?
