Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel says Romelu Lukaku and Callum Hudson-odoi’s latest COVID-19 test results have come back negative.

The Chelsea squad had previously been attacked by the Covid-19 virus. Most recently, on last Thursday’s test, there were players who were detected positive.

Two of them are Lukaku and Hudson-Odoi. Both are then called will be absent for about 10 days.

But then there is good news for Chelsea. This can not be separated from the change in quarantine regulations from the British government.

Lukaku and Hudson-Odoi Negative
Now the UK government has declared that those who test negative for Covid-19 on the sixth and seventh days are allowed to stop self-isolating. Romelu Lukaku and Callum Hudson-Odoi themselves then underwent the latest tests on Wednesday (12/22/2021) yesterday.

According to Thomas Tuchel, both tests came back negative. This makes the two players have the opportunity to play in the Aston Villa vs Chelsea match.

Then, we need to see, they are sick and have symptoms but we will see.”

Do not be too happy, yet
However, Thomas Tuchel warned all parties not to get too excited first. Because Romelu Lukaku and Hudson-Odoi are also still not necessarily playable.

“It’s a Premier League game in one of the toughest places you can play at Aston Villa. This is good news, don’t get me wrong, but I’m not very excited right now because I know I need to check how things are going.”

Besides Lukaku, Hudson-Odoi, and Ben Chilwell, there is Timo Wener who also tested positive for Covid-19. But until now the test results have not shown negative results.
