Manchester City have just parted ways with Ferran Torres. The Spaniard left the Etihad Stadium and joined Barcelona.

Torres joined Man City in the summer of 2020 from Valencia. The 21-year-old player scored 16 goals in 43 appearances for the Citizens.

After 1.5 seasons strengthening Man City, Torres finally returned to Spain. He moved to Barcelona for a transfer fee of 55 million euros.

Besides Torres, Man City have also sold their players at a high enough price. Anyone?

Here are five of Manchester City’s most expensive sales.

5. Alvaro Negredo
Alvaro Negredo came to Manchester City in 2013. At that time, the Spanish bomber was brought from Sevilla for 20 million euros.

Negredo was able to score 23 goals and eight assists from 49 appearances in his first season at Man City. He managed to help The Citizens win the Premier League title and League Cup.

However, Negredo was loaned out to Valencia the following year. He was eventually released on a permanent basis to the Mestalla in the summer of 2015 for a fee of 28 million euros.

4. Shaun Wright-Phillips
Shaun Wright-Phillips comes from the Manchester City academy. The England winger had the opportunity to be promoted to the first team in 1999.

Since then, Wright-Phillips has continued to grow and become one of the Premier League’s top wingers. He scored 31 goals from 181 matches in his first period with The Citizens.

Manchester City signed Danilo from Real Madrid in 2017. The Brazilian has to compete with Kyle Walker at right-back.

2. Ferran Torres
Ferran Torres Torres has not been able to perform optimally for Manchester City this season. He has been plagued by a fractured leg which has kept him out since late September.

Even so, Torres had appeared in seven games this season. The 21-year-old player managed to make three goals from his appearance.

Torres finally left the Etihad Stadium and joined Barcelona in the middle of this season. He joined the Camp Nou with a transfer fee of 55 million euros.

1. Leroy Sane
The Citizens spent up to 30 million euros to bring Sane to the Etihad Stadium.

Sane’s career at Manchester City is arguably classy. The Germany international won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two League Cups.

However, Sane’s time with Man City ended in 2020. Sane was released to Bayern Munich for 60 million euros.
