Premier League – Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has stated that he will keep their squad goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Kelleher himself has until now been one of the goalkeepers trusted by Klopp to replace Alisson Becker in several matches. The goalkeeper’s performance can be said to have continued to improve from being only the third choice after Andrian has now become the second goalkeeper behind Alisson.
As is known, Kelleher’s appearance does not need to be questioned. Although not the main starter, Kelleher has proven his performance by defending Liverpool to win the Carabao Cup match against Chelsea last Sunday (27/2).
Quoted from Sportsmole , Klopp, who understands the potential that players have, ensures that if he doesn’t have the idea of loaning or selling Kelleher to another squad. “As a young goalkeeper, he will experience a lot of development. And Caoimh thrived here.”
We need a strong second goalkeeper. He has a long contract here. And we have long-term plans for him, we will also help him develop as well as possible.”
On the other hand, former Man City goalkeeper, Shay Given has a different opinion regarding Kelleher’s future. He advised the 23-year-old to move from Liverpool so he could play regularly.
“If I were in his position, I would speak to Klopp. I would say that I have to leave on loan, to be able to play regularly, “said Given.
