Premier League: Liverpool Threatened Without 5 Senior Players Against Chelsea

Liverpool lost five senior players during training on Thursday (12/30/2021). In fact, the Reds will meet Chelsea this weekend.

Liverpool Echo reports Thiago Alcantara is out with a muscle injury. Two Brazilian players, Alisson Becker and Roberto Firmino were also not seen at Liverpool’s training session yesterday.

Another absentee is Takumi Minamino, who missed the game against Leicester. He didn’t appear in training because he was also injured.

Divock Origi has also been out of action for the last four games, and was also absent from those training sessions.

All five are predicted not to appear in the duel against Chelsea.

The Chelsea versus Liverpool duel will be held at Stamford Bridge, Sunday (2/1/2022) night.

Getting Far From Manchester City
Liverpool tasted defeat at Leicester City’s headquarters, King Power Stadium, last night, with a score of 0-1. Ademola Lookman’s single goal in the 59th minute broke Liverpool’s ambition to cut the difference in points with the leader of the standings, Manchester City.

Prior to the match against Leicester City, Liverpool were six points away from Manchester City. That is, if they manage to reap the full results of Leicester City, they are just chasing three points to match the acquisition of Pep Guardiola’s troops.

Unfortunately, the plan was ‘disbanded’ when they were unable to tear the host’s net. Fate got worse after Mohamed Salah missed a penalty after his shot was blocked by the goalkeeper, and the rebound failed to turn into a goal.

Leicester City manager , Brendan Rodgers, confirmed that Liverpool are still strong candidates for the 2021/2022 Premier League title. According to him, there are strengths that the Reds have that their competitors do not have.

Liverpool travel to Liecester’s headquarters in the 2021-22 Premier League match, Wednesday (29/12/2021) early morning WIB. In that match, the Reds appeared disorganized.

They are often misguided. They also failed to maximize the opportunities they got.

One of them was Mohamed Salah’s penalty which Kasper Schmeichel blocked. Leicester City finally won 1-0 over Liverpool.

Even though they have just been beaten by Leicester City, Brendan Rodgers says Liverpool is still one of the strong candidates for the Premier League title this season. The Reds are said to be competing against Chelsea and Manchester City.

“Three teams are far above the others. Three different teams,” said Rodgers quoted from the Liverpool Echo .

” Liverpool and Chelsea have physical strength in the team and Manchester City don’t, but they play different games.”

Liverpool Champion Chance
According to Brendan Rodgers, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool will be competing closely until the end of the season. But he feels Liverpool has a big enough chance to beat the two rivals.

“Those three teams are very strong and it will be a real fight towards the end,” said Rodgers.
