Premier League: Mohamed Salah will be legendary even though it doesn’t match Cristiano Ronaldo’s record

Mohamed Salah has been one of the best players in the world over the past few seasons, but he has yet to match the performances of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Liverpool winger scored again in the Champions League last 16 duel against Inter Milan, Thursday (17/2/2022). He has scored in his last eight away game days in the Champions League, which is an impressive feat.

However, Ronaldo currently holds the record for the most away goals, scoring in 12 consecutive away days while playing for Real Madrid.

Salah will not be able to break that record this season as there are not enough games left in the competition. But, even though he was unable to score in his next four appearances, his current away goals record remains outstanding.

The 29-year-old quickly became a legend at Anfield.

Former Reds star Jamie Carragher believes the Egypt international will have a lasting legacy at the club no matter when he decides to leave.

” Mohamed Salah will rest with Dalglish, Gerrard, Rush, John Barnes, Souness – he will be up there with great players,” Carragher told beINSPORTS via Mirror , Thursday (17/2/2022).

Carragher continued, Mohamed Salah is in Liverpool’s all-time right-wing eleven and he is one of the top five or six players to have played for Liverpool. He has won the biggest trophies, the Champions League and the Premier League.

“His goalscoring record is incredible. He has won the Golden Boot almost every year since he has been in this country,” Carragher said.

Salah has scored an incredible 149 goals in 232 appearances since returning to the Premier League after disappointing Chelsea early in his career.

New Contract When?
Salah’s reputation counts on Merseyside. The former AS Roma star of course did not want his career at Liverpool not to end on a bad note.

One more thing, Salah has no sign of signing a new contract. Talks between his representatives and the Reds have been going on for months.

The forward is entering the final 18 months of his contract which expires in the summer of 2023. Salah has made it clear to the public that he wants to stay at Liverpool, although rumors have circulated although no agreement has yet been made on what the player should earn at the club.
