Real Madrid finally confirmed the 2021/2022 Spanish La Liga title. Los Blancos are increasingly asserting their status as the most successful club in the Spanish League with a collection of 35 trophies. The title is certainly proud for all Real Madrid players, including Carlo Ancelotti who became their coach.

Ancelotti is listed as the first coach to win all five of Europe’s top leagues. In addition, he also joined the ranks of coaches who had brought Real Madrid to conquer the domestic scene. Including Ancelotti, these are the last five coaches who have successfully done so.

1. Fabio Capello (2006/2007)

Carlo Ancelotti is not the first Italian coach to successfully bring Real Madrid to LaLiga champions. In the 2006/2007 season, Fabio Capello also managed to do it. Los Blancos’ title at that time was achieved dramatically because their points were actually the same as Barcelona, who was sitting in second place.

In fact, Real Madrid’s goal difference at that time lost to Barca. However, LaLiga rules state that head to head results are more valuable than goal difference. Therefore, Real Madrid has the right to become champions for winning head to head over Barcelona in LaLiga.

For Capello himself, it was not his first LaLiga title with Real Madrid. Previously, Capello had also handled Real Madrid in the 1996/1997 season and won the trophy. Capello himself has now retired since 2018 when he was 72 years old.

2. Bernd Schuster (2007/2008)

Fabio Capello left Real Madrid at the end of the 2006/2007 season as England coach. Real Madrid also brought in a new coach, namely Bernd Scushter from Germany. Scushter is not a foreign name for Los Blancos because he had defended Real Madrid while playing.

As a player, Schuster even helped bring Real Madrid to win LaLiga twice. Amazingly, Schuster then managed to lead Los Blancos to the 2007/2008 LaLiga champions. Schuster became one of the few names who won the LaLiga trophy with Real Madrid as a player and coach.

3. Jose Mourinho (2011/2012)

In the 2008/2009 season to 2010/2011, Barcelona managed to dominate LaLiga thanks to the genius of coach Pep Guardiola. It was only in the 2011/2012 season that Real Madrid were able to win again. The coach who succeeded in breaking Pep’s dominance was Jose Mourinho, who started coaching Real Madrid in 2010.

Together with Mourinho, Real Madrid appeared extraordinary in LaLiga 2011/2012. Los Blancos have a record for the most points in a LaLiga season (100 points) and the most goals (121 goals). Mourinho himself is still the only coach from Portugal who has won LaLiga until now.

4. Zinedine Zidane (2016/2017 and 2019/2020)

Next there is Zinedine Zidane, the coach who is a former legendary Real Madrid player. This French man had brought Real Madrid to the 2002/2003 LaLiga champion while playing. After becoming a coach, he managed to repeat this achievement twice, namely in the 2016/2017 and 2019/2020 seasons.

However, Zidane’s greatest achievement as Real Madrid coach is of course the success of winning the Champions League three times in a row from 2015/2016 to 2017/2018. No other coach has ever managed to do that. Zidane himself is currently unemployed after leaving Real Madrid at the end of the 2020/2021 season.

5. Carlo Ancelotti (2021/2022)

Carlo Ancelotti is the latest coach to successfully bring Real Madrid to LaLiga champions. The Italian coach finally made up for his failure to win the LaLiga trophy in his first period of coaching Real Madrid. Yes, Ancelotti has coached Los Blancos from 2013 to 2015, but failed to win the league.

Ancelotti returned to Real Madrid in early 2021/2022, and this time he successfully conquered the Spanish League. Now, Ancelotti has the opportunity to complete his success by bringing Real Madrid to the Champions League trophy this season. Can you?

Even though Real Madrid is the most successful club in Spain, bringing them to LaLiga champions is certainly not an easy matter. The five coaches above have successfully proven their prowess by winning the league trophy with Real Madrid. Who else will coach their achievements?
